Asphalt recycling: the Madrid recycled asphalt roads are rehabilitated

The Community of Madrid has chosen some time for the recycling of asphalt roads are rehabilitated, which significantly reduces waste generation and commitment to sustainable construction.

How is recycled asphalt?

With both initiatives if the aim is to prevent the asphalt and old tires from ending up in landfills. Therefore, given a new use and contributes to environmental conservation.

In 2009 the Community reused a million tires in the work of improving roads in Madrid.Along with this environmental policy that aims to improve waste management in the region, is also implementing the collection of waste from the roads through the separation of waste at the same time it was collected. Thus, crews cleaning ditches, originally separate plastics and packaging (yellow bag), paper (blue bag) and organic waste (orange bag), which further facilitates reuse and recycling. As a result of new policies for recycling, collected last year with this type of work 1 kg of trash per mile day.
